THE WINE

The DiMarco Cellars Story

Chris and Amy (high school sweethearts) fell in love with wine in their early 30’s on their first trip to wine country and have not looked back since. Their love for boutique wines became a passion in hopes of having their own wine one day and DiMarco Cellars was developed.

Thanks to Hesperian wines a boutique winery in Sonoma Valley that gave us that chance. I hope you all enjoy it as much as we do.

About The Wine

The Vintage

Rainfall was scarce in 2020, this was a drought year. Temperatures were very moderate in the first half of the year and then, in the latter part of the summer, they turned, at times, very hot.

The Vineyard

The vineyard is located in the Sonoma Coast appellation which helped moderate the heat in the summer. Deep clay soil allows the plants to root deeply and give the wine a nice richness.

The Winemaking

Traditional Burgundy style fermentation in open-top stainless-steel tanks: 2 punch downs a day. Total fermentation tank time: 15 days. The wine was aged for 9 months in French oak barrels from numerous coopers. It’s not about the barrels, it’s about the fruit. This gentle barrel regimen still imparts a soft and subtle oak character to the wine.
